During the past six months this society have awarded a donation of one hundred and fifty pounds to buttercups sanctuary for goats helping towards feed cost best wishes buttercups hopefully our society will continue to do so

we have been out and about at show events and also raised just under two hundred and fifty pounds for Dorthy house hospice

During 2018 the Nettleford pygmy goats have attended various shows, these include: The Royal Bath and West Agricultural Show, Clutton Flower Show, The Dorothy House Bubble Run, and the Mid Somerset Show. with the assistance of the Harness Goat Society and Sunnydene Goats they have raised just over 250.00 for Dorothy House hospice care.

The uk pygmy goat society prize draw whist at the Bath & West show, was won by Gemma Gales winning ticket (Humbug 56) Gemma received a phone call on Saturday 2nd June informing her of the prize amount she had won, Gemma kindly donated 50 back to the society charity fundraising, which is shortly on its way to Dorothy House Hospice. A massive big thank you Gemma and to every one else that entered the prize draw, we will soon reveal the amount sent on to Dorothy House

In today's modern society public liability insurance is required the UKPGS does have one in place which covers its members and events, the company providing the policy is cliverton the certificate NO: is D1888327 its period starts from 1st May 2019 TO 30th April, hopefully as it continues to grow the UKPGS at some point be in a position to purchase an award for goat of the year, at the moment it's committee are pleased with the interest its generated
A society fellow member wanted to share her veterinary bible and insist its been a godsend with her keeping a variety of animals other than pygmy goats, this book was published in the UK by smallholder publications LTD, back in 1994 its author R. RUSSELL LYON, BVM&S MRCVS vet on call, his books are still available on sites like Amazon
